Easy Winter Flower Arrangement

Let's see a show of hands- who feels utter despair once the Christmas tree and garlands and lights and stockings are all packed away by early to mid January?? The coziness and life all those greens bring to our living spaces give way to sort of bare rooms. So, here we are, mid-February, needing to brighten up the house during these dreary days.

I've been making a conscious effort to keep the beauty going in our little apartment, stocking fresh flowers or a sprig of green here and there each week. It doesn't have to be a huge financial investment. Evergreen branches or leaves can be found in your yard (or your neighbor's yard.) And places like Kroger and Trader Joe's have super affordable floral options!

I picked up some seasonal pretties, and arranged them for our living room. For detailed instructions on how to arrange flowers, check out my post from last year! But, essentially, look for interesting flowers that you're drawn to. I like holding them in my hands as I browse to see how the colors work together. For this arrangement I went with greens, grays, dusty blues and a pop of pink!

I used:
-wax flowers
-seeded eucalyptus
-eryngium (blue bell or sea holly?)
-winter greens (looks like boxwood)

Cut all stems at diagonal.
If greens or flowers have leafy stems, just strip the part of the stem that will be in the vase. This helps it look neater.

Wax flowers first, highlight the sea holly next, filled in holes with boxwood and added texture with eucalyptus.
