Make Your Own Acai Bowl


I will always advocate for getting your açaí bowl fix at your local juice/smoothie shop. It'll just be the real deal. However, if you develop that summertime, post-workout, post-anything smoothie bowl habit- it'll break your budget fast. So, thank you Trader Joe's for putting our needs first. Frozen açaí packets make a DIY bowl so easy!


Here's the basic formula for a perfect açaí bowl: frozen açaí packet, one banana and a splash of milk blended with your choice of nut butter for the base // topped with an assortment of dry toppings: options are nuts, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, hemp, granola, anything you like! // also topped with fresh ingredients: options are banana, strawberry, kiwi, any berries really, mango, grapes, etc. // Maybe finish with a drizzle of honey- it's all up to you!


If we're talking recipe, I'd say blend one packet, one banana and 1/4 cup or less of milk with one tablespoon nut butter. You want it to be thick. Not runny at all. But super smooth. So blend it till you get that consistency. Spoon it in a bowl and go crazy with toppings. You're welcome.
