Spiced Maple Almond Butter


October is our family's sugar trap. I mean, we celebrate two birthdays and Halloween within a week. I never understood how much cake, cupcakes, candy, chocolate, etc. we could hoard in our house- or how much my two-year-old would beg for more. (One of my "healthy mom" nightmares- eek!) 

Determined to be a cool mom, I came up with this Spiced Maple Almond Butter. Which is not just for the kiddos. Somewhere between a health snack and a caramel apple- I'm picturing this at fall gatherings, Thanksgiving and brunch. 




Ok, let's talk almond butter. I love several brands, but I'm going to recommend Kroger's Simple Truth Creamy or Trader Joe's Creamy Almond Butter. They're just smoother and thinner in my experience and would work best for this recipe.


Also, let's talk about Linden's dress. We had her dressed and ready for church early. I mean, parents of the year over here. I turned for two seconds to take a pic of this deliciousness and who do you think dumped half the cinnamon on her white dress? Such is parenting in toddlerland!
